OUR PROGRAMS

What We Do

  • Work to strengthen our collective commitment to building a more civic-minded community, focused on social issues that can enhance Stratford’s growth. .

  • Engage community members to take action by contributing news articles, led by the community, to the weekly local newspaper, the Stratford Crier.

  • Create an intergenerational exchange to educate residents on the ways to better understand financial literacy.

  • Cultivate civic engagement and a sense of shared environmental responsibility by creating opportunities for people to volunteer and take meaningful action.

Stratford Crier

When Stratford’s newspaper stopped printing, our community lost a trusted source of connection. In 2020, the Stratford Crier was born to fill that gap—reviving local journalism and restoring a shared civic voice.

Today, our team delivers timely, engaging reporting to more than 10,000 households each week, covering the stories that matter most to the people of Stratford.

None of this would be possible without our passionate reporters, columnists, and contributors, who are committed to informing our neighbors, strengthening community ties, and keeping Stratford connected.

In Schools

The Neighborhood Beat is a semester-long civic engagement and journalism mentorship program for high school students interested in storytelling, media, and community impact. Students are trained as local civic reporters, learning how to observe, question, interview, and publish stories that document and strengthen their town.
